Cache Crop privacy
Updated October 30, 2026. Published by Noaa AB.
Your scan stays on your Mac
Cache Crop reads local filesystem metadata for selected project folders and recognized developer storage. It reads simulator inventory using Apple's simctl and optional local simulator metadata. It does not upload scan results, project paths, file contents, kept items or cleanup plans. There is no telemetry or background cleanup.
Local settings and plans
Selected folders and kept items are saved locally. Preview plans remain in the app session; copying a JSON plan puts its paths and metadata on your clipboard. Review and redact that data before sharing it. This version does not execute cleanup actions.
Purchases and licenses
Polar handles checkout, payment details, subscriptions and customer-portal access under its own privacy policy. To activate or validate Pro, Cache Crop sends your license key, organization and product-benefit identifiers, and the activation identifier when available, to Polar over HTTPS. Activation uses the label “Cache Crop on Mac.” No hardware serial number or storage inventory is included. A device-local Keychain record stores the key and validation state; it does not sync through iCloud.
Updates
Manual update checks use Sparkle to request the signed feed from bynoaa.com and download an update if you choose one. Automatic update checks and Sparkle system-profile reporting are disabled. Normal server request logs can include an IP address and technical request information.
Support and wider policy
If you choose to share diagnostic details with support, remove private paths and do not include a full license key. See the Noaa AB privacy policy for website, purchase and support data, your rights and contact information. You can also visit Polar's privacy policy.
